Paul Bäumler

I'm a tech entrepreneur based in Berlin. I build companies, and I back people who are starting to build their own.

Arbio

Arbio is an AI-native hospitality company. We manage more than 2,000 holiday properties across Europe, and we build the software that runs them: pricing, guest communication, and the day-to-day operations behind every stay.

Letsact and Lets

Before Arbio I founded Letsact, which grew into Germany's largest volunteering platform and put my co-founder Ludwig Petersen and me on the Forbes 30 Under 30 Europe list.

Out of Letsact we built Lets, a B2B SaaS product in the CSR space: corporate volunteering and donations, run properly instead of on spreadsheets. It ended up powering programmes for tens of thousands of employees at companies like Mercedes-Benz, L'Oréal, E.ON, Linde and Siemens. We sold the company to an insurance group in 2021.

Investing

I invest as an angel, usually very early. What I enjoy the most is working with talented people as soon as they start building or even before - supporting ambitious founders in building companies that matter.

If you're at that stage, I'd like to hear from you.

Before that

I grew up just outside Munich and studied business administration at the University of St. Gallen in Switzerland, where I was selected for the Entrepreneurial Talents programme at the university's Entrepreneurship Center.

Then came short stints at BCG and BCG Digital Ventures in Berlin. I learned quickly that I don't enjoy working for someone else, or building something without a stake in the outcome.

Away from work

I travel as much as I can, spend time in nature and on the water, read a lot of spy novels, and I'm big into football.
